Wifi Hotspot -for your device(s)

Scenario-Your wifi router just got damaged ..looking for temporary (or may be permanent) wifi hotspot to share ur wired/wireless internet connection from one device to other devices in your home/office.
Win 7: Connectify is the best option if you are working on Windows7 [though its not a free option]
Ubuntu 11.04 or above: Consider yourself lucky -free hotspot creation option is there.
System tools>System settings>Network>Wireless>Use Hotspot [Though following configuration is necessary]
Configure>IPV6 settings>Method to Ignore
Wireless security>Key [enter ur own wifi key]
Terminal>sudo killall dnsmasq
Mac: Share internet connection is a free option in this too!
Nokia smartphones: Use application JoikuSpot [not free] to use your phone’s internet connection to create hotspot!
Iphone: Option is there to create personal hotspot for free.
Android smartphones: configure- Settings>Wireless and Networking> Tethering & portable hotspot>Portable Wi-Fi hotspot to create free hotspot
